Thermography

See What Your Body May Be Telling You

Your body is constantly producing heat, and those patterns can tell a story. Thermography uses specialized infrared technology to capture and map that heat, creating detailed thermal images that reveal temperature differences you can’t see with the naked eye.

These images can show patterns related to blood flow, vascular activity, inflammation and other physiological changes that may be precursors to cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions, giving you another way to gather information about what’s happening in your body.

A Different Way To Gather Information

  • No radiation. Uses safe infrared technology,
  • No compression. Breast thermography does not require the breasts to be compressed.
  • Nothing touches your body. Images are captured without a machine or technician touching you.
  • Repeatable. Images can be compared over time, based on your individual needs or provider’s recommendations, to observe changes and patterns.
  • Shareable. Your report and images can be shared with the healthcare provider of your choice as an additional source of information when further evaluation is appropriate.

What Happens During Your Assessment?

  • Acclimate: You’ll have approximately 15 minutes to acclimate before imaging so your skin can reach a stable temperature.
  • Prepare: You’ll disrobe only the areas being imaged. This may mean disrobing completely or above the waist. Disposable garments are provided when appropriate.
  • Capture: You’ll stand approximately 10 feet in front of an infrared camera while a female technician captures images. Nothing touches your body.
