Dr. Troy Spurrill

Founder & Senior Chiropractic Associate

Dr. Troy is a leader in developing and implementing unique and powerful healing strategies. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Manitoba and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, and has extensive training in Functional Neurology, Nutrition, and Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Troy has dedicated his career to leading the charge in wellness, making Synapse an internationally known center for true health. Dr. Troy is an author, international lecturer on wellness and Brain Based healing, and founder of a revolutionary emotional wellness based product called the I-Perk.

    Dr. Meaghan Kirschling

    DC, NP, RN, MS - Chiropractic Associate & Certified Acupuncturist

    Dr. Meaghan has both an allopathic and alternative medical background, receiving a Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, a B.S. in Nursing and Exercise Science from Valparaiso University, a Masters of Nutrition from University of Connecticut Bridgeport, and a Masters of Nursing in Women’s Health from University of Cincinnati. Before coming to Synapse is 2006, she worked as a floor nurse for six years in the Organ Transplant Unit at the University of Minnesota Fairview hospital. In 2010, she moved to Germany to be one of the first doctors to provide chiropractic services to military personnel overseas. At Baumholder Health Clinic, she helped create an integrative environment & worked closely with MDs, DOs, PTs, & others. She also was a faculty member for the University of Maryland during this time, & taught health science classes.

      Dr. Mark LaScotte

      DC - Chiropractic Associate

      Dr. Mark was raised in Blaine, Minnesota. He was exposed to the benefits of Chiropractic care at an early age having a mother who is also a Doctor of Chiropractic. The benefits and relief experienced with Chiropractic care in his own life motivated him to be a provider of such care for others. Dr. Mark earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin River Falls in 2010. In 2014, he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington MN.

      Dr. Mark has participated in numerous sports over the years including football, baseball, and hockey and is very familiar with sports injuries that come with being a competitive athlete. His diverse experience with sports and sports injuries gives him first-hand knowledge of what specific treatment it takes to return to your sport, along with techniques for minimizing the likelihood of re-injury. In addition to being knowledgeable about sports injury, Dr. Mark has also had extensive experience helping people with neck pain, low back pain, headaches, foot pain, and everything else between. Dr. Mark is passionate about the need for good nutrition and believes that one can achieve optimal health through comprehensive nutritional and chiropractic combined with wellness education.

        Dr. Amber Genetzky

        DC, DACNB, CVSMT - Chiropractic Associate

        Dr. Amber Genetzky has been a practicing chiropractor since 2007.  Her undergraduate degree in Biology was obtained from the University of Minnesota.  She spent a year at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine before being drawn to change her career path to chiropractic.  She graduated with honors from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2007.  She received her post-graduate training in functional neurology from the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies, and she passed her boards to become a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board in 2014.   She spent nine years working for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Prior Lake where she was exposed to a wide variety of conditions and where she was honored to work side by side with healthcare providers from multiple disciplines.  She has been certified in and practicing acupuncture since 2007.  She was trained in animal chiropractic from The Healing Oasis in Wisconsin and has been practicing animal chiropractic since 2010.

        In addition to chiropractic and functional neurology, Dr. Amber worked as a professional ballet dancer for local Minnesota companies for 13 years, and after semi-retiring  in 2015, she remains active in the ballet world by sitting on the Saint Paul Ballet Board, and continuing to take classes and teach. She has acted as treating chiropractor for a number of professional and non-professional dancers in the Twin Cities area.   She is also a long distance runner and has completed full and half marathons.

          Chad Weed

          Licensed Massage Therapist & Rehabilitation

          Chad does both massage therapy and is responsible for the physical therapy aspect of care here at Synapse. He is trained in many different massage and rehabilitation techniques. When Chad is not at Synapse, he is spending time with his wife and two boys. He enjoys snowboarding with his oldest son and coaching both basketball and baseball. He also enjoys tae kwon do, pumping iron, and staying fit.
