Dr. Troy Spurrill, D.C.- Founder & Senior Chiropractic Associate
Dr. Troy has been a leader in developing and
implementing unique and powerful healing strategies. Dr. Troy received a
Bachelorís of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Manitoba. He
received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences
University. He has extensive training in Functional Neurology, Nutrition, and
Applied Kinesiology. He uses a variety of techniques and methods to treat and
heal a vast array of health conditions and symptoms. Wellness is a burgeoning
frontier in the health care arena. Dr. Troy has dedicated his career to leading
the charge in this area making Synapse an internationally known center for true
health and wellness. Dr. Troy is an author and lectures internationally on
wellness and Brain Based healing. Dr. Spurrill has also recently developed and
patented a revolutionary emotional wellness based product called the I-Perk.
Dr. Kim C. Tran, D.C. - Chiropractic Associate
Dr. Kim is passionate about helping patients achieve their optimum health and giving back to the community. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Asian Studies from California State University Long Beach with a background in Pre-Medicine and Liberal Arts. Dr. Kim received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University.She has volunteered as a chiropractor in Costa Rica assisting underserved populations. Prior to joining Synapse, she worked in Vietnam at a chiropractic practice, while also volunteering at two different orphanages in Saigon. While in Vietnam, she developed scoliosis protocols as the primary physician. She has a strong passion for women's health - assisting women going through PMS and menopause. Dr. Kim is also an avid sports enthusiast and has been a fitness instructor for over 7 years.
Dr. Meaghan Kirschling, D.C., R.N., M.S. - Chiropractic Associate & Certified Acupuncturist
Dr. Meaghan has both an allopathic and alternative background in the medical field. She has a Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, a B.S. in Nursing and Exercise Science from Valparaiso University, and Masters of Nutrition from University of Connecticut Bridgeport. She also has her acupuncture certification. Her healthcare work experience started out as a charge and floor nurse for six years on the Organ Transplant Unit at the University of Minnesota Fairview hospital. Dr. Meaghan worked at Synapse from 2006-2010. In February 2010, she moved to Germany to be one of the first two doctors to provide chiropractic services to the military men and women serving overseas. At Baumholder Health Clinic, she helped to create an integrative environment and worked closely with MDs, DOs, PTs, and other healthcare providers. During her time in Europe, she also was a faculty member for the University of Maryland and taught health science classes. Dr. Meaghan enjoys working with a wide array of patients and empowering people through teaching them about their conditions and treatment.
Chad Weed - Licensed Massage Therapist & Rehabilitation
Chad does both massage therapy and is responsible for the physical therapy aspect of care here at Synapse. He is trained in many different massage and rehabilitation techniques. When Chad is not at Synapse, he is spending time with his wife and two boys. He enjoys snowboarding with his oldest son and coaching both basketball and baseball. He also enjoys tae kwon do, pumping iron, and staying fit.
Karen Bauer - Licensed Massage Therapist & Bodyworker
has a Bachelor's degree in Biology, trained in Massage at Rasmussen College, and is nationally certified by the National Certification Board of Massage & Bodywork. Karen specializes in deep tissue massage, integrating a variety of modalities to help with pain, decrease overall stress, and rebalance the body. She also uses essential oils as part of a massage for the aromatherapeutic benefits and to promote natural healing. In addition to massage, Karen teaches Massage Therapy at National American University. She loves to spend time with her husband and two young boys.
